Sheriff Marty Fisher -
Has been a resident of
Fayette County for 30 years. He lives in West Union with his wife where he
served as the West Union Police Department's Chief of Police prior to being
elected Sheriff of Fayette County. He served as a Military Police
Officer for the U.S. Army from 1974 - 1977. His Law Enforcement experience
also includes West Union Police Officer for 12 years, and a prior Fayette
County Sheriff's Deputy from 1989 - 1999, in which he obtained the rank of
Sergeant. Marty's educational background includes: Attending the University
of Hawaii ( majoring in Criminal Law ); Leadership and Management; Military
Police Academy graduate; and a graduate from the Iowa Law Enforcement
Academy in 1978. He has been trained in: Conflict Management; Supervisor
Management; Narcotic Investigation; Search and Seizure; Drug Recognition;
Standard field Sobriety Testing; Civil Procedures; Domestic Violence and
Child Abuse, and is a member of the Northeast Iowa Sexual Abuse Coalition.
