The Fayette County Dispatch,
consists of several
dedicated people to
keep the Sheriff's Office activities running smooth. The safety and well
being of all Fayette County Law Enforcement, Fire men, Ambulance personnel,
and citizens of Fayette County revolves around the timely responses and
professionalism of the all the Fayette County Dispatchers. Our dispatch is
also in charge of entering valid warrants into a nation wide system and
canceling same when the warrants have been served. They also run motor
vehicle inquiries upon request by law enforcement officers in the county,
and are in charge of filing case incidents into the Sheriff's office filing
system. Law Enforcement dispatch is not just a matter of putting in an
application, getting the job, and going to work. This is a specialized field
and requires mandatory training. The criteria for maintaining a dispatch
position is as follows: BIST Training (one time school- 4days); EMD Training
(one time school - 3 days); Telecommunication Coarse ( one time school - 40
hours);
Once this training has been completed then there are update training schools
to take to continue a certified dispatch position, and are as follow: 12 EMD
Training ( per year); 8 Hours of dispatch training ( per year) 6 hour TTY
Certification ( every 2 years); CPR Certification ( every two years).
